Arambagh, 1st March.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack against the Trinamool Congress regarding the Sandeshkhali controversy. He accused the party of shielding its leader, Sheikh Shahjahan, who faces allegations of sexual assault and land encroachment and has been arrested.

Speaking at an event in Arambagh, West Bengal, PM Modi questioned whether Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee values the votes of certain individuals over the plight of women in Sandeshkhali.

PM Modi also targeted the opposition INDIA alliance for their silence on the issue. He criticized the Trinamool Congress’ slogan of ‘Maa, Maati, Manush’ (Mother, Land, and People), stating that their actions in Sandeshkhali contradict the essence of this slogan. Referring to historical figure Raja Ram Mohan Roy, PM Modi remarked that the situation in Sandeshkhali would sadden and enrage him.

The Prime Minister highlighted the efforts of BJP leaders in securing the arrest of Sheikh Shahjahan, emphasizing the need for justice through voting. He criticized the INDIA alliance for their lack of action and termed them akin to Gandhi’s three monkeys, accusing them of turning a blind eye to the issue.

PM Modi also condemned the Congress delegation’s earlier attempt to visit Sandeshkhali, with party leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury labeling Mamata Banerjee as the “Bengali queen of cruelty.” He questioned Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks on the situation in Bengal, alleging insult to the state and its people.

PM Modi accused the INDIA alliance of supporting corruption and dynastic politics, asserting that their allegiance lies with those who practice appeasement.
