PM Modi Condoles Deaths in TN Bus Accident, Announces Rs 2 Lakh ex-gratia for Families

New Delhi/Chennai, 1st Oct. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief on Sunday over the Nilgiris bus accident in Tamil Nadu on September 30, which killed nine people.

The Prime Minister also announced a 2-lakh assistance for the victims’ family.

“Pained by the loss of lives due to a bus accident near Coonoor in Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I pray that the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of ₹ 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. Those injured would be given ₹ 50,000: PM @narendramodi,” the PM’s official X handle said.

The death toll went up to nine with the demise of one more woman on Sunday.

The victims were on their way home from a fun trip in the hilly district when the mishap occurred.
