Cuddalore, 6th June. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives of youngsters by drowning in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu.
“I’m saddened by the drowning of youngsters in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore. In this time of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families,” tweeted PM Modi.

Four women and three girls, who had gone to take a bath in Kedilam river near Nellikuppam in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday afternoon drowned. None of them knew swimming, said Panruti DSP, A Sabibullaj.
Chief minister MK Stalin condoled the deaths, he announced a solatium of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
