PM Modi Congratulates Vietnam’s New President To Lam
Reaffirms commitment to deepen India–Vietnam strategic partnership

New Delhi, 7th April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated To Lam on his election as the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, expressing confidence in stronger bilateral ties under his leadership.
In a message shared on social media, Modi said the longstanding friendship between India and Vietnam would continue to grow, describing it as “time-tested” and rooted in mutual trust and cooperation.
The Prime Minister underscored India’s commitment to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, aimed at advancing progress and prosperity for their people as well as the wider region.
He also expressed his eagerness to work closely with the newly elected President to deepen engagement across sectors.
India and Vietnam share close diplomatic, economic and strategic ties, with growing cooperation in areas such as defence, trade, energy and regional security.
