Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday responded to the motion of thanks on the President’s address to Parliament.

Beginning his address, he acknowledged the reverence with which the procession, led by Rashtrapati Ji, entered the new Parliament House, marking a momentous occasion on the 75th Republic Day. PM Modi expressed gratitude to the House members for their valuable contributions to the Motion of Thanks.

Highlighting the significance of the President’s address, PM Modi emphasized its role in showcasing India’s progress and outlined the importance of developing and strengthening key pillars such as Nari Shakti, Yuva Shakti, the poor, and the Ann Data to accelerate the nation’s development towards a Viksit Bharat.

In his speech, PM Modi underscored the need for a robust opposition while expressing concern over dynastic politics, which he described as detrimental to India’s democracy. He differentiated between legitimate participation of individuals from a family in politics versus the dominance of a single family controlling decisions within a political party. PM Modi welcomed young politicians driven by a sense of national service while cautioning against the pitfalls of dynastic politics.

The Prime Minister also addressed India’s economic trajectory, expressing confidence in India’s potential to become the world’s third-largest economy during the current government’s third term. He highlighted India’s rising stature on the global stage, exemplified by its successful hosting of the G20 Summit.

PM Modi reiterated his government’s commitment to inclusive development, citing achievements such as rural and urban housing initiatives, railway electrification, gas connections, and sanitation coverage. He contrasted his government’s proactive approach with the purportedly lackluster efforts of previous administrations.

Looking ahead, PM Modi outlined the government’s focus on major decisions aimed at laying the foundation for India’s prosperity for the next millennium. He expressed faith in the capabilities of India’s citizens, citing significant reductions in poverty and extensive welfare measures reaching millions.

Addressing various sectors, including agriculture, women empowerment, and youth opportunities, PM Modi emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and infrastructure development. He also touched upon India’s strides in becoming self-reliant in energy and technology sectors.

In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Modi called upon Members of the House to unite for the nation’s development, seeking their unwavering support in realizing the vision of a prosperous India for its 140 crore citizens.
