Varanasi, 19th June. Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a surprise visit to the under-construction Varanasi stadium and sports complex on Tuesday, following his participation in a Kisan Samman Sammelan, Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, and visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi inspected the ongoing work at the Dr. Sampurnanand Sports Stadium.
In a statement on X, PM Modi expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating, “Reviewed the progress at the Dr. Sampurnanand Sports Stadium in Kashi. This stadium and sports complex will greatly help the youth of Kashi.”
During the visit, PM Modi interacted with officials, reviewed the model of the sports complex, and inspected various facilities. Photos shared by PM Modi depicted the stadium being constructed to international standards, featuring floodlights and well-maintained green outfields.
This visit marks PM Modi’s first return to Varanasi, his constituency, since securing a hat-trick victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections, reaffirming his commitment to developing the region’s infrastructure for youth empowerment and sports excellence.
