Vellore, 10th April.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led alliance in Tamil Nadu, vowing to expose what he termed as the “decades-old dangerous politics” of the party.

Addressing a rally in Vellore, PM Modi accused the DMK of instigating conflict among people based on region, religion, and caste for political gains. He asserted that the DMK’s divisive tactics would no longer deceive the electorate once they grasp the true nature of the party’s politics.

Highlighting the issue of drug smuggling in the state, PM Modi questioned the DMK’s role in providing protection to drug mafias and criticized its alleged involvement in promoting divisive politics.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister reiterated his criticism of the Congress and DMK over the Katchatheevu issue, accusing them of concealing information from the public regarding the transfer of the island to Sri Lanka during the Congress regime. He alleged that despite the Congress being in power at the time, it remained silent on the matter, leading to the arrest of fishermen near the island.

PM Modi emphasized the efforts of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government to repatriate Indian fishermen detained by Sri Lanka, underscoring the government’s commitment to their welfare.

In his speech, PM Modi commended Tamil Nadu for its contributions to the space sector and manufacturing, expressing confidence that the defense corridor initiative would propel the state’s development.

Additionally, PM Modi reiterated his support for the Tamil language and invited the people of Tamil Nadu to participate in the Kashi Tamil Sangamam and the Saurashtra Tamil Sangam.

Seeking support for candidates allied with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), PM Modi urged voters to back Pattali Makkal Kachi’s Dharmapuri candidate Soumya Anbumani and New Justice Party’s Vellore candidate AC Shanmugam.

Tamil Nadu, with all 39 seats up for grabs, will vote in a single phase on April 19, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the DMK-led alliance secured a landslide victory, winning 38 out of 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.
