PM Modi to Visit Ladakh for Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26

New Delhi, 22nd July. On the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ladakh on July 26, according to an official announcement made on Sunday. The celebrations, marking the ‘Rajat Jayanti’ of India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil conflict, will take place from July 24 to 26 at Drass in Kargil.

Lt. Governor Brig (Retd) B.D. Mishra convened a meeting at the secretariat to review the arrangements for PM Modi’s visit to the Kargil War Memorial at Drass. The meeting outlined plans for the Prime Minister’s reception, including arrangements at the Drass helipad, the motorcade route, the wreath-laying ceremony, and interactions with war widows.

Mishra emphasized the importance of timely completion of all arrangements and scheduled a personal inspection visit to the war memorial on June 24. On July 23, the Special Protection Group (SPG) team will arrive in Ladakh to coordinate with the Army, police, and civil administration.

Major General Malik provided further details, noting that PM Modi will land at Drass Brigade Helipad on the morning of July 26 and will be welcomed by army officials. After a rest period in the green room, he will proceed to the Kargil War Memorial for the wreath-laying ceremony and visit the ‘Shaheed Marg’ (Wall of Fame). The Prime Minister will also receive a briefing on the Kargil War and participate in a group photograph.

Additionally, PM Modi will engage with ‘Veer Naris’ (war widows) and visit the Veer Bhoomi. He will also inaugurate the ‘Shinku La Tunnel’ virtually during his visit.
