PM Modi Virtually Inaugurated the Jallianwala Bagh In Amritsar

Amritsar, 28th Aug. Jallianwala Bagh, which was closed for the last one and a half years due to Corona and beautification, opened for the general public on Saturday. The Punjab government has spent Rs 20 crore for Jallianwala Bagh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Jallianwala Bagh.

Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh also joined the program. He gave information about the history of Jallianwala Bagh and described today as a day of happiness. He urged the PM that discussions should be held with the British government to bring back the personal belongings, pistol and personal diary of the great martyr Udham Singh. He said that the sacrifices of the elders should be remembered.

Modi remembered the martyrs in his address. He said that Jallianwala Bagh became a symbol of freedom struggle.

Renovation of Jallianwala Bagh was supposed to be completed last year but due to Covid the work was paused. Earlier, the garden used to open from 9 am to 5 pm, but now it will open till late evening. The open well inside Jallianwala Bagh has been renovated. This is the same well in which people jumped to death to escape the bullets of the British army.

A theater has been constructed at Jallianwala Bagh. Digital documentary will be shown in this theater with a capacity of 80 people simultaneously.
