PM Modi Vows to Match Railway Modernization Pace in West Bengal with National Progress

Prime Minister Modi Unveils Rs 7,200 Crore Projects in Arambagh, West Bengal

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development initiatives worth Rs 7,200 crore in Arambagh, Hooghly, West Bengal on Friday. These projects extend over multiple sectors, including rail, ports, oil pipeline, LPG supply, and wastewater treatment.

Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s rapid progress in the 21st century and reiterated the nation’s commitment to becoming “Viksit” by 2047. He emphasized empowering youth, women, farmers, and the poor, noting the government’s efforts in lifting 25 crore people out of poverty.

PM Modi underscored the significance of the inaugurated projects for West Bengal’s development, including rail modernization, port infrastructure enhancement, and the Haldia Barauni crude pipeline, which exemplifies sustainable development. He also mentioned the inauguration of an LPG bottling plant and sewage treatment plants benefiting lakhs of people.

Highlighting the employment opportunities generated by infrastructure projects, the Prime Minister mentioned the allocation of over Rs 13,000 crores for West Bengal’s railway development in this year’s budget, triple the pre-2014 amount.

He also outlined completed projects in the last decade, including railway electrification, station redevelopment, and the introduction of new train services and Vande Bharat Express trains.

PM Modi expressed confidence in achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat with the collaboration of West Bengal’s citizens and extended his best wishes for the state’s development.

The event was attended by West Bengal Governor Dr. C V Ananda Bose and Union Minister of State for Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shri Shantanu Thakur, among others.
