On the festival of Guru Purnima, numerous devotees from around the country visited the temple to pay their respects and seek blessings from their spiritual gurus. They also bathed in holy water and paid obeisance to their gurus.

Guru Purnima is also known as Ashadhi Purnima and Vyas Purnima, as Maharishi Ved Vyas was born on this day. A guru holds a distinct place in this world. This is why, in Indian tradition, a guru is valued more highly than God. This event is observed not just by Hindus, but also by Jain, Buddhist, and Sikh followers. This day marks the first Dharma Chakra Pravartan in Buddhism.
