PORT MORESBY (Papua New Guinea), 16th Aug: Port Moresby is set to host a Youth Expo Walk to commemorate International Youth Day, bringing together young people, government agencies, development partners and community organisations to celebrate youth leadership, inclusion and active participation in nation-building.
The event has been designed to encourage young people to engage in community development while highlighting their role in shaping Papua New Guinea’s future. Organisers said the programme will combine a public awareness walk with an expo showcasing youth-focused initiatives, skills development opportunities and entrepreneurship programmes.
The Youth Expo Walk is expected to attract participation from students, youth organisations, government departments, private sector representatives and civil society groups. Through exhibitions and interactive activities, participants will have the opportunity to learn about education, employment, health, innovation and leadership programmes available for young people.
Organisers said the event aims to strengthen collaboration between institutions working for youth development while encouraging greater civic engagement among the country’s young population. The programme also seeks to inspire youth to become responsible leaders and active contributors to national development.
Officials have encouraged the public, particularly young people, to participate in the event and support initiatives that promote inclusion, opportunity and sustainable development. The Youth Expo Walk is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue, networking and showcasing the achievements and potential of Papua New Guinea’s youth.
