Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) Chief Jitan Ram Manjhi hinted at forthcoming political upheaval in Bihar, suggesting that around four MLAs, two from the Congress and two from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), may join the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Speaking to ANI, Manjhi remarked, “One game is over, another is yet to begin.” He praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to align with the NDA, citing concerns over Bihar’s law and order and emphasizing the move’s benefit for the state’s populace.

Nitish Kumar’s recent realignment with the NDA followed his resignation as Chief Minister on January 28, reportedly triggered by his exclusion as the convenor of the opposition bloc INDIA. The NDA, under Kumar’s leadership, subsequently won a floor test with the support of 129 MLAs.

The defection of three RJD MLAs to the NDA further consolidated the ruling coalition’s position in the Bihar State Assembly. With the JD(U) holding 45 seats, supported by 79 BJP legislators and four from HAM-S, the NDA commands a total of 128 seats, comfortably exceeding the majority threshold of 122.

The potential addition of MLAs from the Congress and RJD to the NDA could further reshape Bihar’s political landscape, signaling significant shifts in alliances and power dynamics within the state.
