President Murmu Appoints New High Court Judges, Extends Terms for Others

New Delhi, 19th July. President Droupadi Murmu on Friday appointed new judges to the High Courts, following the power conferred by the Constitution. The appointments include both new permanent judges and extensions for existing judges:

Yanshivraj Gopichand Khobragade, Mahendra Wadhumal Chandwani, Abhay Sopanrao Waghwase, Ravindra Madhusudan Joshi, Santosh Govindrao Chapalgaonkar, Milind Manohar Sathaye, and Dr. Neela Kedar Gokhalc have been appointed as Permanent Judges of the Bombay High Court.

Girish Kathpalia, Manoj Jain, and Dharmesh Sharma have been appointed as Permanent Judges of the Delhi High Court.

Sanjay Anandrao Deshmukh has been reappointed as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court for a fresh term of one year, effective from October 7, 2024.

Justice Vrushali Vijay Joshi has also been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court.

These appointments reflect the ongoing efforts to ensure judicial efficiency and strengthen the judiciary across India’s high courts.
