Considering the achievements of his past terms and detailing his objectives for the next phase of government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently shared his vision for the future of Bharat in an interview. In his first term, he focused on providing for fundamental requirements; in his second, he aimed to inspire confidence; and in his third, he outlined a strategic progression that would see Bharat rise to the status of one of the world’s economic superpowers.

First Term: Meeting Necessities

The primary goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first term, which started in 2014, was to meet the basic necessities of the Bharatiya people. Initiatives and laws aiming at enhancing people’s quality of life and guaranteeing that everyone has access to basic requirements were implemented during this time.

 

PMJDY or Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana
The goal of PMJDY, which was introduced in August 2014, was to give Bharat’s unbanked population access to financial services like banking and insurance. PMAY or Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

With the goal of giving all urban and rural impoverished people access to cheap homes by 2022, this massive housing initiative was introduced in June 2015. In order to increase accessibility to homeownership, qualifying beneficiaries under PMAY are given affordable housing units in addition to incentives and subsidies.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) – Ayushman Bharat

Ayushman Bharat, the world’s largest government-funded healthcare programme, was introduced in September 2018. It seeks to give over 10 crore disadvantaged families health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family annually, guaranteeing access to high-quality medical care without financial barriers.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: The Mission to Clean Bharat


This national cleaning campaign was started on October 2, 2014, with the goal of realizing the vision of a Swachh Bharat by October 2, 2019, which is Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birthday. The initiative aimed to eliminate open defecation and preserve cleanliness in public areas in Bharat by constructing toilets, encouraging hygiene habits, and guaranteeing appropriate waste disposal.

The Mission of Skill India

Skill India was established in July 2015 with the goal of empowering young people with applicable skills and bridging the skills gap in the labor market across a range of industries. The primary goal of the mission is to improve the productivity and employability of the Bharatiya workforce by offering training, certification, and placement possibilities.

Second Term: Establishing Self-Belief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s priorities during his second term changed to encouraging optimism and confidence in the populace. Bold economic changes, infrastructure building projects, and programs to encourage entrepreneurship and job creation were the hallmarks of this time.

Campaign for Made in India
