Punjab: Charanjit Singh Channi to Take Oath as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab

Chandigarh, 20^th Sep. Chamkaur Sahib MLA Charanjit Singh Channi will take oath as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab at 11 am. He will be the first Dalit Chief Minister of the state. Rahul Gandhi will attend the swearing-in ceremony. Brahm Mohindra and Sukhjinder Randhawa will take oath as the deputy CMs.

Charanjit Channi met Harish Rawat before going to Raj Bhavan for the swearing-in ceremony. MLA Kuldeep Singh Vaidya said that Channi will meet Captain Amarinder Singh in the afternoon.

The swearing-in ceremony is going to start shortly. However, former CM Captain Amarinder Singh will not participate in the ceremony. Charanjit Channi, Sunil Jakhar and Navjot Sidhu have reached Raj Bhavan.
