Chandigarh, 20th Sept. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called a special session of the state Assembly on September 22 to seek a trust vote, just days after the AAP accused the BJP of trying to destabilize the state government.

The state government’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had previously claimed that the BJP approached some of its MLAs and offered them Rs 25 crore each.

“You must have heard how they tried to contact our MLAs and tried to offer money and other allurements in an attempt to topple the government which was elected with a huge mandate,” Mann said in a video message in Punjabi from Germany.

Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema claimed a few days ago that some BJP leaders approached seven to ten MLAs with money and ministerial positions as part of ‘Operation Lotus.’

“We are calling a special session of the Punjab Assembly on September 22 to show how elected MLAs are determined to make the state vibrant…

In that session, we will hold a vote on trust,” he stated.
