Punjab Govt Transfers 38 IAS Officers, Including 10 DCs

Chandigarh, 12th Sept. In a major administrative shake-up, the Punjab government has transferred and issued new posting orders for 38 IAS officers, including 10 deputy commissioners, as announced on Thursday.

Notable changes include Showkat Ahmad Parray being appointed as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bathinda, replacing Jaspreet Singh, who is now the state transport commissioner. Sakshi Sawhney has been posted as DC of Amritsar, succeeding Ghanshyam Thori, who will assume the role of Special Secretary, Health. Preeti Yadav is the new DC of Patiala.

Jitendra Jorwal will take over as DC of Ludhiana, while Deepshikha Sharma has been appointed as DC of Ferozepur, replacing Rajesh Dhiman, who will now serve as DC of SBS Nagar. Sandeep Rishi is the new DC of Sangrur, and Amarpreet Kaur Sidhu has been named DC of Fazilka, taking over from Senu Duggal, who has been appointed as Managing Director of Sugarfed. Himanshu Jain will serve as DC of Roopnagar, and Sona Thind has been posted as DC of Fatehgarh Sahib.

In addition to the DC changes, senior IAS officer Anindita Mitra has been moved to the position of Secretary, Cooperation, from her previous role as Commissioner of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. Vinay Pratap has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for Excise, while Alok Shekhar, currently ACS Jail, will now also handle the additional portfolio of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries. Krishan Kumar, who is the Principal Secretary of Water Resources, will additionally serve as Financial Commissioner, Taxation.

Other significant changes include Gurpreet Singh Khaira as Special Secretary, Local Government; Apneet Riyait as Special Secretary, Housing and Urban Development; and Varjeet Walia as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.
