Rae Bareli, 5th May. A complaint was directed towards Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, for submitting his nomination from the Rae Bareli constituency in Uttar Pradesh. The complaint raises concerns about Rahul Gandhi’s nationality as well as his most recent defamation conviction.

Who lodged the grievance over Rahul Gandhi’s Rae Bareli candidacy?

The complaint was filed by attorney Ashok Pandey on Anirudh Pratap Singh’s behalf. Gandhi’s lawyer filed a complaint against the Congress leader with the Rae Bareli Returning Officer, requesting that his candidacy be revoked due to his nationality and conviction.

Pandey told ANI, “He should back off since his stay on conviction does not involve permission to contest elections.”

According to the complainant, he has filed a writ contesting Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship. The nomination of Rahul Gandhi is still valid now as it was formerly.

Rumors that Rahul Gandhi will run for the Amethi seat again were put to rest on Friday, May 3, when he filed his nomination from the Rae Bareli constituency. This revelation gave the opposition a field day.
