Mumbai, 6th August.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday slammed Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar for suggesting that Maharashtra could experience disturbances similar to those in Manipur. Pawar made the comments during an event in Navi Mumbai, emphasizing the need to maintain unity in the state.

Responding to Pawar’s remarks, Thackeray questioned the intent behind Pawar’s statement, asking, “What exactly does he want to happen in Maharashtra? Does he wish a repetition of Manipur here? He has to play a role in safeguarding Maharashtra from becoming another Manipur.”

In a separate announcement, Thackeray revealed his party’s strategy for the upcoming state assembly elections, expressing his intention to field candidates in 225-250 constituencies. Thackeray stated he aims to contest a majority of the seats, without specifically targeting any opposition candidates or areas.

When asked if Worli, currently held by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, would be a focus, Thackeray emphasized that his party’s efforts would be broadly aimed across the state rather than on individual constituencies.
