Jaipur, 11th Nov. For the first time, voters in the Shergaon village of the Abu-Pindwara Assembly constituency in Rajasthan will be able to vote in their own village, according to an official statement on Saturday.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta announced that the Election Commission has made arrangements to set up polling stations in inaccessible hilly areas, remote locations, and sparsely populated areas to ensure easy and inclusive voting.

Situated at an altitude of 4,921 feet in the Sirohi district, Shergaon residents will no longer have to travel to the remote Utraj village to cast their votes. Instead, a polling station has been established in Shergaon itself, serving 117 voters. To reach this polling station, the polling party will trek approximately 18 kilometers through dense forests with the assistance of forest guards.

In addition to Shergaon, other villages in Rajasthan are also benefiting from this initiative. Barmer Ka Paar village, located near the international border, now has a polling station for 35 voters. Similarly, Manjholi village in the Barmer district has a polling station for 49 voters, and Kantal Ka Paar village has one for 50 voters.

Furthermore, the Mainau polling station in Jaisalmer has only 50 voters. On the day of voting, a temporary booth will be set up in a tent at this location. Similarly, in the Baseri Assembly constituency of the Dholpur district, a polling station will be established for the first time at Kali Teer, serving 682 voters. Previously, these voters had to travel 7.5 km to reach the nearest polling station.

The state of Rajasthan will hold elections for all 200 seats in a single phase on November 25, with vote counting taking place on December 3.
