Roger Binny Hints Big Changes After Becoming BCCI President, Says, “I Will Fix 2 Things First”

Mumbai, 19th Oct. Roger Binny, the 1983 World Cup winning bowler, was appointed as the new chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday.

Sourav Ganguly’s tenure as captain ended on October 18. (Tuesday). Binny hinted at major changes as soon as he assumed control of the BCCI. First and foremost, he indicated two points.

On Tuesday, Roger Binny was named the BCCI’s new Board President at the 91st Annual General Meeting in Mumbai.

This position had no other candidates. He was elected president unanimously. Roger, 67, will now take over this position in place of Sourav Ganguly.

Binny said, “As BCCI President, I would like to focus on two things first. The first thing would be how to control the injury to the players. Jasprit Bumrah was injured just before the T20 World Cup. This one thing greatly affected the entire plan of the Indian team. The second thing would be that I would like to pay attention to the pitches that are prepared in the country.”
