Facing the challenge of Pat Cummins, who had claimed hat-tricks in his last two matches, Rohit Sharma continued his onslaught by smashing a blistering fifty off just 19 balls, the fastest half-century of the tournament this year.

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh acknowledged Rohit’s impact, admitting, “Rohit Sharma got them off to an absolute flyer. We’ve seen for 15 years that when he’s in that mode, it’s very hard to stop.”

Reflecting on his innings, Rohit Sharma highlighted his strategy of assessing the bowlers’ tactics and adapting accordingly. “That’s what I have to do at the top of the order, try and see what the bowlers are trying to do and play accordingly,” he remarked.

With a display of fearless hitting, Rohit Sharma’s assault on Australia’s bowling lineup effectively neutralized their chances, as strong winds swept across the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium.

“You got to open up all sides of the field, not just be one-dimensional,” Rohit Sharma commented on his approach. “When you keep an open mind and not think about just playing one shot, you can access all sides of the field.”

Rohit Sharma’s masterclass ensured India’s path to the semi-finals, marking a significant moment in his T20 World Cup career as he continues to demonstrate his prowess at the top of the order.
