New Delhi, 11th April.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, finds himself embroiled in yet another controversy as his trusted aide, Bibhav Kumar, has been sacked amid allegations of “illegal appointment.” This development adds to the mounting challenges faced by Kejriwal’s administration, particularly in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s refusal to entertain his case.

Bibhav Kumar, often referred to as Kejriwal’s “Man Friday,” has been a steadfast companion to the Chief Minister, accompanying him through the highs and lows of his political journey. Kumar’s journey from a former video journalist to the inner circle of Delhi’s political powerhouse underscores his significance in Kejriwal’s life.

However, the recent termination of Kumar’s services by the Vigilance Department has raised eyebrows, especially in light of allegations regarding his involvement in criminal cases. The order cites a 2007 incident where Kumar, along with others, allegedly obstructed a public servant from performing his duties, casting a shadow over his suitability for government service.

Furthermore, Kumar’s dismissal comes amidst heightened scrutiny from enforcement agencies, particularly regarding the Delhi excise policy case.

His interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate and allegations of evidence tampering only exacerbate the challenges faced by Kejriwal’s administration.

This latest setback underscores the precarious position of Kejriwal’s government, already reeling from accusations of corruption and internal strife.

The resignation of Delhi Minister Raaj Kumar Anand, citing corruption within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), further exacerbates the crisis facing Kejriwal.

The AAP’s contention that these developments are politically motivated by the BJP does little to assuage concerns regarding governance and integrity. With the ED seeking an arrest warrant against AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in a separate money laundering case, the specter of legal battles looms large over Kejriwal’s political future.

In wake of these developments, it is imperative for Kejriwal to address the allegations head-on and demonstrate a commitment to transparency and accountability. Failure to do so risks further erosion of public trust and confidence in his leadership, potentially jeopardizing the AAP’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
