Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Nitin Deshmukh Calls ACB Inquiry a Witch-Hunt

Mumbai, 21st August. Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Nitin Deshmukh has criticized the Maharashtra Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for what he describes as a witch-hunt following the agency’s recent actions. On Monday, Deshmukh condemned the ACB’s letter to the school where his children are enrolled as part of its ongoing investigation into him.

In July, the Amravati unit of the ACB sent a letter to the school requesting details on the educational expenses for Deshmukh’s daughter and son, who are studying in Class VII and X, respectively. The letter, which has recently gone viral on social media, is part of a broader inquiry into Deshmukh’s activities over the past two years.

Deshmukh, the Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA from Balapur in Akola district, claimed that the probe is motivated by his refusal to join the Eknath Shinde faction following the Shiv Sena split. “It is a witch-hunt and it is being done since I did not join the Eknath Shinde group after the Shiv Sena split. The inquiry should be done in a transparent manner and not in a closed room like this,” he told reporters.
