Mysuru, 13th April.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that the INDIA bloc may not secure an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha elections, while the NDA will also not have enough seats to form the government at the Centre.

Contrary to the BJP’s slogan of “Abki baar 400-paar,” Siddaramaiah predicted that a government without the BJP would be formed at the Centre due to an undercurrent against the saffron party in the country.

Siddaramaiah declared in an exclusive interview that there will not be a BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, citing a silent voter phenomenon and undercurrent in the nation.

He mentioned that post-elections, there could be a re-alignment of political parties with regional leaders like Naveen Patnaik and Mamata Banerjee coming together to form a government.

Explaining why BJP may lack numbers this time, Siddaramaiah pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not fulfilled poll promises since 2014, and issues like unemployment and price rise are major concerns today.

Regarding Congress’s prospects in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah expressed optimism, stating that they are likely to retain the same vote share as in the last assembly elections and win 15 to 20 seats in the state.

He criticized the BJP and JD(S) alliance, likening JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy to Nitish Kumar and accusing both parties of being opportunistic and communal.

Siddaramaiah also predicted that JD(S) might merge with BJP in the future and claimed that some JD(S) leaders were willing to join Congress.

He dismissed BJP’s allegation of poor financial position in Karnataka, stating that the state is financially disciplined and all development work is ongoing.

Siddaramaiah accused the Centre of depriving Karnataka of tax refunds and relief funds, alleging bias against the state.

He criticized the I-T department for targeting Congress while ignoring tax evasion by BJP through electoral bonds.

Addressing speculation about his position as chief minister, Siddaramaiah stated that he would abide by the high command’s decision on whether to continue in the role.

He also mentioned that he plans to remain active in politics but will not stay in electoral politics after four years.
