Siddharth Mridul Takes Oath as Chief Justice of Manipur HC

Imphal, 20th Oct. Siddharth Mridul was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court on Friday.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Raj Bhavan, with Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey administering the oath of office to Justice Mridul.

He is now the seventh Chief Justice of Manipur High Court, having previously served as a judge in Delhi High Court for over 15 years.

During a press conference, Justice Mridul expressed his commitment to a productive tenure and mentioned that there are currently 3,335 pending cases in Manipur High Court that he will address.

In other news, Justice M V Muralidharan, who made a controversial order regarding the inclusion of the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribes list, has been transferred to the Calcutta High Court.

Justice Muralidharan had been serving as the acting Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
