Sikkim Bags the Award for Being Most Film Friendly State At the 67th National Film Awards

New Delhi, 25th Oct. Sikkim has been honored with the Most Film Friendly State Award at the 67th National Film Awards at Vigyan Bhawan here on Monday. Sikkim has been awarded with the Most Film Friendly State Award. The award was presented by the Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu. The said award from the Vice President was received by Lok Nath Sharma, Minister of Information and Public Relations, Government of Sikkim.

Sikkim was represented at the prestigious forum by Minister, DIPR, Lok Nath Sharma, Chairman, Sikkim Film Promotion Board, Ms. Pooja Sharma and Joint Director, DIPR, Bishal Khawas.

The formal announcement of Sikkim as the winner of Most Film Friendly State Award was made on March 22, 2021 at the National Media Centre, New Delhi. This honor is a proud moment for the people of Sikkim and will go a long way in setting the foundation for the state to become a major film destination while providing opportunities for local filmmakers and artistes.

The award has recognized the promising film sector of the state at the national and global level and will lead to more ventures for filmmaking in the state.
