New Delhi, 1st August. Anand Kumar, founder of the renowned Super 30 program, has been named the ‘Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism’ for 2024. The agreement was signed in New Delhi on Wednesday by Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director for India & SAARC countries at the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), and Anand Kumar, according to a statement from Super 30 on Thursday.

“Kumar, widely admired in South Korea for his Super 30 initiative, also has a bestselling book on his life published in Korean, and the popular movie ‘Super 30’ was based on his journey,” said Myong Kil Yun.

The appointment aims to enhance cultural ties and open educational avenues between India and South Korea. Korea has introduced the Korea Super 30 travel packages, allowing young students to visit and explore opportunities in the country.

“This initiative will let Indian students, particularly those aged 14-18, experience Korea’s vibrant culture, historic landmarks, and cuisine. Parents can nominate their children for the Korea Super 30 program by submitting an application,” added Myong Kil Yun.

Anand Kumar welcomed the initiative, highlighting the importance of global exposure for students in today’s world. “This is not just recognition for me but for all Indian teachers, showcasing the respect South Korea has for educators,” he said.

Founded by Kumar in 2002, Super 30 selects 30 talented candidates from economically disadvantaged backgrounds annually, preparing them for India’s IIT entrance exams.
