Tarang Shakti Strengthens Defence Ties and Confidence Among Nations: Rajnath Singh

Jodhpur, 13th Sept. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of the multinational exercise ‘Tarang Shakti’ in boosting cooperation, coordination, and trust with friendly nations.

Speaking at the Distinguished Visitors’ Day event in Jodhpur, Rajnath Singh said that Tarang Shakti has solidified India’s defence ties with partner countries, enhancing mutual confidence that in times of need, they will stand together.

Highlighting India’s commitment to global cooperation, Rajnath Singh noted that the exercise allows military personnel from different backgrounds to learn from each other.

“Tarang Shakti underscores the growing stature of the Indian Armed Forces,” he said, adding that India takes pride in its economic achievements and the rising global recognition of its military power.

Defence Minister also reflected on the evolution of the Indian Air Force (IAF), which started with just six squadrons at independence, and today boasts modern aircraft and cutting-edge technology. Referring to the collaboration between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and France’s Safran Helicopter Engines, he highlighted India’s progress towards becoming a major arms exporter, supplying defence equipment to 90 countries.

The event featured demonstrations by the Agniveer Vayu Women Air Warrior Drill Team, LCA Tejas, LCH Prachand, and others.

It concluded with the inauguration of the International Defence and Aerospace Expo (IDAX-24), showcasing India’s strides in indigenous defence manufacturing and international collaboration.

Sixty-eight industry players participated, highlighting India’s growing role in the global defence and aerospace sectors.
