New Delhi 3rd March. DefConnect 2024 will be held at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on March 4, 2024. Under the auspices of the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Innovations for Defence Excellence-Defence Innovation Organisation (iDEX-DIO) is taking a giant step forward in promoting indigenous innovation and facilitating partnerships to address the evolving security challenges. Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will give the inauguration speech.

DefConnect 2024, which brings together important stakeholders like the Armed Forces, leaders in the defense industry, start-ups, academia, and policymakers, marks a significant turning point in the nation’s defense innovation landscape. In addition to showcasing cutting-edge technologies, the event seeks to foster meaningful engagements and is poised to serve as a transformative platform for entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration in the defense industry. Many investors and innovators from India’s top defense-related industries will be drawn to the event.

Military personnel can collaborate with innovators through a co-development model made possible by the iDEX framework. They function as domain experts, nodals, and end users. By utilizing the knowledge and perspectives of the end user, this partnership facilitates innovation and ensures that innovations are seamlessly incorporated into current platforms. Over 9,000 applications from individual innovators and start-ups have been submitted to iDEX’s Defence India Start-up Challenge (DISC) and 11 Open Challenges (OC) to date. These challenges have come from the Tri-Services, Defence Space Agency, Defence Public Sector Undertakings, Indian Coast Guard, Border Roads Organization, and other agencies. Prior to International Women’s Day on March 8, 2024, there will be an All-Women Panel Discussion at the event with the theme “Women as Drivers of Change.”

The main draw for all the guests will be the exhibition of innovative technologies created by iDEX winners. It will present a special chance to interact with and learn about iDEX startups’ cutting-edge technologies.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi introduced the iDEX in 2018, which essentially gives different players in the aerospace and defense industries a single, unified platform. It serves as a kind of umbrella organization to supervise technological advancements and prospective joint ventures in this particular area.
