Traffic Advisory Issued by Delhi Police for Muharram Tazia Processions

New Delhi, 16th July.
 The Delhi Police on Tuesday issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for the Tazia processions scheduled across the city on Tuesday and Wednesday in observance of Muharram.

Tazia Procession Routes and Details:
On Tuesday evening, the first procession will commence at 9 pm from Chhatta Shahzad, Kalan Mahal, passing through Kamra Bangash, Chitli Qabar, Churi Walan, Matia Mahal, Jama Masjid, Chawri Bazar, and Hauz Qazi. It will return along the same route. Another procession will start from Old Police Chowki, Ashok Basti, proceeding through Qutub Road, Khari Baoli, Lal Kuan, Hauz Kazi, Chawri Bazar, and Jama Masjid, before returning via the reverse route. Tazias from Nizamuddin, Okhla, and Mehrauli will head directly to Karbala.

Similar processions are planned across various districts including East, Northeast, Shahdara, Northwest, Southeast, South, and West.
Wednesday’s Schedule:
On Wednesday, the procession will reform at 11 am, following the same route and assembling at Kalan Mahal to proceed to Karbala, Jor Bagh.
Delhi Police Road Advisory:

Specific traffic diversions and stops have been outlined for city buses traveling on Desh Bandhu Gupta Road, buses to New Delhi railway station, and those heading towards Connaught Place and Central Secretariat.

Areas likely to experience traffic disruptions include Mathura Road, Ma Anandmayee Marg, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Road No. 56, Pankha Road, Najafgarh Road, and others due to local processions.
Precautionary Measures:
Commuters planning to visit New Delhi railway station on Wednesday evening are advised to leave early and consider alternative routes avoiding Connaught Place.
Regulated Traffic Zones:

From 12 noon to 9:30 pm on both days, traffic regulations will be enforced on major roads including Jama Masjid Road, Chawri Bazar Road, Ajmeri Gate Road, Asaf Ali Road, Connaught Place Outer Circle, and several others.
