Uddhav Thackeray struggling to save his party gets another major setback

GG News Bureau
Mumbai, 7th July. Uddhav Thackeray, the former chief minister of Maharashtra and leader of the Shiv Sena, is attempting to save his organization after being removed from that position due to internal party unrest. He has experienced a significant setback as of late from Thane Municipal Corporation. 66 Shiv Sena council members have switched sides to support Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

All of the rebel councilors met Eknath Shinde at his home late on Wednesday night, according to information obtained from sources. In the Thane Municipal Corporation, the Shiv Sena has 67 councilors. Out of these, 66 councilors rebelled, and Uddhav lost control of the Thane Municipal Corporation. After Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Thane Municipal Corporation is the second-most significant municipal corporation in Maharashtra.

39 out of 55 Shiv Sena MLAs rebelled under Eknath Shinde’s leadership, which is why Uddhav’s chair was removed. The rebel MLAs traveled to Surat, Guwahati, and then Goa in that order. The Governor had instructed Uddhav Thackeray, the then-chief minister, to demonstrate his majority in the House. Shiv Sena had petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn it, but they were unsuccessful. Following this, on June 29, Uddhav Thackeray submitted his resignation as CM.

12 MPs are joining the Shinde group

On June 30, a new government was established in Maharashtra with the help of the BJP, and Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the new chief minister. Devendra Fadnavis, a BJP leader and former chief minister of Maharashtra, was appointed deputy chief minister. He received the backing of 40 Shiv Sena rebel MLAs as well as independent MLAs. Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray are both vying for control of the Shiv Sena party. Both groups assert that theirs is the genuine Shiv Sena. Gulabrao Patil, a rebel Shiv Sena MLA, asserted that 12 of the party’s 18 MPs would soon join the Shinde-led faction.
