New Delhi, 23rd July. The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the Union Budget on Tuesday ahead of its presentation by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

This forthcoming budget, set to be her seventh consecutive presentation, marks a historic milestone as Sitharaman surpasses the record of former Finance Minister Morarji Desai, who presented five full budgets and one interim budget between 1959 and 1964.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted the Economic Survey’s focus on the strengths of the economy and identified growth areas as the government aims to progress towards a “Viksit Bharat.”

The 2024-25 Budget will be the first by the BJP-led NDA government in its third term and the first since their re-election last month.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed optimism about the budget, describing it as a pivotal step towards the country’s development and progress.

“The budget will be a journey of resolve to take the country on the path of development and progress. It is our hope that it will help us rapidly achieve the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ as envisioned by the Prime Minister,” Scindia said.
