Gorakhpur, 21st Sept. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Saturday, urged the public to embrace the teachings of saints and strive for national unity while remaining vigilant against divisive forces.

Speaking at a tribute ceremony for saints Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath and Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath at Goraknath Temple, Adityanath highlighted the enduring threat to national unity posed by social divides like caste discrimination and untouchability.

He noted that India’s saint tradition has long advocated for uniting society, stressing the importance of staying alert to those who seek to sow division. Adityanath recalled his experiences working with Mahant Avaidyanath Maharaj on several service projects, describing him as a true social reformer, a compassionate guide, and a defender of religious values.

“There is no aspect of society that the Gorakshpeeth has not advanced,” Adityanath said, emphasizing the temple’s role in promoting unity. He cautioned against divisive forces, warning that external money could fuel internal strife.

Mahant Balak Nath, BJP MLA from Rajasthan’s Tijara, and other spiritual leaders also paid tribute, highlighting the lasting legacy of the two saints in promoting education and fighting untouchability.

Adityanath concluded by lauding India’s progress in the past decade and encouraging people to embrace the message of saints for the nation’s collective good.
