Upcoming Budget to Set Path for Next 5 Years and “Viksit Bharat”:PM Modi

New Delhi, 22nd July. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Monday that the forthcoming Union Budget will be pivotal in shaping the country’s trajectory for the next five years and establishing a robust foundation for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). His remarks were made in a media interaction ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament, which will see the tabling of the Economic Survey.

Modi emphasized the significance of the Budget, noting that it represents the first budget of his government’s third term and will play a crucial role in setting the direction for the nation’s development. He highlighted that this Budget, scheduled for presentation on Tuesday by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, will be a cornerstone for the government’s vision for the coming years.

The Prime Minister also extended his greetings for Sawan, noting the auspicious timing of the Parliament session. He urged that the session be positive and productive. “Today is the first Monday of Sawan, and an important session is beginning on this auspicious day. I extend my greetings to the countrymen and hope this session will be positive,” Modi stated.

Reflecting on his government’s return for a third consecutive term, Modi expressed pride and reiterated his commitment to fulfilling the promises made to the people. He underscored the importance of this Budget in the “Amrit Kaal” (Golden Period) and its role in realizing the dream of a developed India. “This Budget will decide the direction for the next five years of our term and will lay a strong foundation for ‘Viksit Bharat’,” he affirmed.

Addressing the Opposition, Modi urged members to rise above party politics and focus on national interests. He called for a collaborative effort to empower farmers, youth, and the nation until the next general elections in January 2029. “The public has spoken, and it’s time for all MPs to work for the country using this dignified platform. We can engage in political strategies in the election year, but until then, let’s work together for the nation’s progress,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister slammed attempts by the Opposition to “stifle the voice” of his government, emphasizing that Parliament should serve the interests of the country rather than partisan agendas. He recounted attempts to suppress his address during the first session of Parliament, asserting that the government was elected by the majority of the people and should focus on national rather than party-specific issues.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced today and will continue until August 12. The session will include the presentation of the Union Budget, which is anticipated to outline the government’s financial plans and priorities for the year ahead.
