Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi Gives Instructions for Uninterrupted Power Supply in the State from 6 PM to 7 AM

Lucknow, 12th Oct. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that there will be continuous power supply in the state from 6 pm to 7 am.

In the midst of the power crisis, the Chief Minister reviewed the power supply with all the Divisional Commissioners of the state, District Magistrates Purvanchal, Madhyanchal, Dakshinanchal, Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam and senior officials of KESCO through video conferencing at his official residence on Monday.

CM said that at present the festival of Navratri is being celebrated with gaiety and Ramlila is being staged at various places. Considering this there will be no power cut at night. He also said that all meaningful steps should be taken for adequate coal supply to the power plants.

He directed UPPCL Chairman M Devraj to conduct a thorough review of coal supply of power plants in the state. Yogi said that consumers should not suffer due to erroneous electricity bills. The security of the electricity billing agencies not working as per the agreement should be confiscated. Along with registering FIR against them, blacklisting should also be done.

Yogi has instructed to implement the one-time settlement scheme (OTS) soon. He said that faulty transformers must be replaced within 48 hours in rural areas and 24 hours in urban areas. The quality of the replaced transformer should also be checked and the applicable arrangements regarding capacity addition should be implemented.

Yogi said that immediate action should be taken regarding the subsidy given to the farmers. Those farmers who have paid for the connection should be given immediate connection. The cases of irregularities in the electricity bills of the beneficiaries of other schemes including Saubhagya Yojana should be resolved immediately.

He said, reduce line loss. The managing directors of all corporations should work by fixing accountability at the feeder level. At the chairman level of UPPCL, their review should be done daily, electricity distribution corporation wise. Every other day the progress should be reviewed by the Additional Chief Secretary, Energy and the report should be made available to the Energy Minister. The progress should be reviewed weekly by the Energy Minister.
