Uttarakhand Polls: People Have Created History by Voting in Huge Numbers, says CM Dhami

Khatima, 14th Feb. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday said that the people of the state have created history by voting in huge numbers.

The Chief Minister said, “I hope that the new government will work for a golden future of Uttarakhand.”

Polling held across 70 Assembly seats spread over 13 districts of Uttarakhand amid tight security on Monday.

This is the fifth Assembly election being held in the state since its creation in 2000.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is seeking a consecutive second term in office in Uttarakhand while the Congress party is trying to make a comeback after being routed by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2017 Assembly elections.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also trying its luck this time. AAP has declared Col Ajay Kothiyal as its chief ministerial (CM) face.
