Dehradun19th May. The demand to vaccinate the labourers from neighbouring country Nepal is gaining momentum with the surge in the Covid pandemic in Uttarakhand. Several social activists are demanding that the Labourers from Nepal should also be vaccinated as they carry goods to the people’s homes and are in contacts with the locals which makes their vaccination imperative.
A letter was written to the High court which has been converted into a PIL.
The state government responding to the High court stated that the permission from Ministry of External Affairs needs to be obtained in the case of workers from Nepal. The high court has asked the government to submit its reply within 10 days.
