Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh Meets President Murmu

 Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.

Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, President Murmu highlighted the robust foundation of India-Vietnam relations, rooted in close cultural and historical ties, and characterized by mutual trust, understanding, and cooperation in international fora. She emphasized Vietnam’s role as a crucial pillar in India’s Act East Policy and as a key partner in the Indo-Pacific Vision.

President Murmu expressed satisfaction with the diverse range of bilateral engagements between the two countries, encompassing political exchanges, defense partnerships, trade, commerce and investment, development cooperation, cultural relations, and people-to-people contacts.

Both leaders acknowledged their shared Buddhist heritage and civilizational linkages, expressing contentment with the ongoing collaborative efforts to restore heritage sites in Vietnam.

President Murmu voiced confidence that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit would significantly strengthen the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
