New Delhi, 2nd April: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday completed his online self-enumeration for Census 2027 at the Vice President’s residence, marking a push towards the government’s digital-first census initiative.

In a message shared on social media, the Vice President encouraged citizens across the country to participate in the self-enumeration process and submit their household details through the official portal when notified by their respective state or Union Territory authorities.

Census 2027 is being conducted with extensive use of digital technology under the government’s Digital India initiative, aimed at enhancing the accuracy, efficiency, and speed of data collection and dissemination.

The move to enable self-enumeration is expected to simplify participation and reduce dependency on manual processes, especially in urban and digitally connected regions.

Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India Mritunjay Kumar Narayan was present during the process at Uprashtrapati Bhavan.

Officials said the digital approach would play a key role in ensuring real-time data capture and improved policy planning based on updated demographic information.
