Warm Welcome for PM Modi During Landmark Official Visit to Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd Sept. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bandar Seri Begawan today on an official visit at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. This marks the first-ever bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Brunei, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome and was warmly received by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei.

Brunei holds significant importance in India’s ‘Act East’ Policy and Indo-Pacific Vision. The relationship between India and Brunei is characterized by mutual respect and cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral fronts, underpinned by a shared history, culture, and traditions that span over a millennium.
