Kolkata, 14th Sep. Trinamool Congress has nominated Sushmita Dev to the Rajya Sabha. Former MP Sushmita Dev joined TMC after resigning from Congress recently.
Sushmita Dev was the national spokesperson of the Congress as well as was handling the women’s wing of the party, but she had sent her resignation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi without assigning any reason. On Tuesday, TMC in its tweet has informed about nominating her to the Rajya Sabha.
TMC in its tweet said, “Mamata Banerjee’s vision to empower women and ensure their maximum participation in politics shall help our society to achieve much more!”
The Election Commission has already announced the dates for Rajya Sabha by-elections for many states. The commission has decided to hold by-elections to the Rajya Sabha in Tamil Nadu, Assam, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Puducherry and Madhya Pradesh.
