Youth Must Look Beyond Traditional Opportunities:VP Dhankhar

New Delhi, 27th July. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday emphasized the need for the youth to explore opportunities beyond conventional paths while addressing the 77th Foundation Day Celebrations of Hansraj College, University of Delhi.

He highlighted that the commercialization of coaching and education hampers national growth, and urged the youth to break out of silos.

Dhankhar underscored the importance of integrating modern scientific knowledge with traditional Indian values in education, stating that it is a transformative tool that fosters equality and reduces inequities. He added that focusing on education is fundamental to human growth.

Expressing concern over disruptions in Parliament, Shri Dhankhar called on the youth to stand by their conscience, truth, and nationalism.

He emphasized that Parliament should be a forum for debate, deliberation, and discussion, and condemned slogan shouting and indiscipline.

Highlighting India’s remarkable economic growth, Shri Dhankhar encouraged the youth to look beyond government jobs, noting that the current ecosystem in India allows individuals to exploit their potential and fulfill their aspirations.

He praised new opportunities in self-employment and stressed the importance of being aware of the government’s skill promotion and upgradation policies.

The Vice-President pointed out the vast employment potential in disruptive technologies like green hydrogen, space science, and artificial intelligence. He emphasized the need for quality education that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial skills to equip the youth for the complexities of the modern world.

Dhankhar called the youth the most significant stakeholders in governance and urged them to use digital platforms and social media to raise awareness about pressing issues and mobilize communities. He recognized their ability to challenge the status quo and drive societal transformations, encouraging them to play a positive nationalistic role and champion growth-oriented causes.

Before his address, the Vice-President inaugurated a renovated administrative block and unveiled ‘Smarika’ on the occasion.

The event was attended by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi; Prof. Rama, Principal of Hansraj College; Justice Pritam Pal Singh, Vice President of the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi; along with students, faculty members, and other dignitaries.
