ZPM’s Lalduhoma Sworn in as Mizoram’s New Chief Minister

 ZPM’s Lalduhoma was on Friday sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Mizoram. The ceremony took place at the Raj Bhavan complex in Aizawl, where several other ZPM leaders also took oath as ministers.

Lalduhoma was elected as the leader of the ZPM Legislature Party, with K Sapdanga as the deputy leader.

The Val Upa Council, an advisory body of the party, met Lalduhoma to decide on the formation of the council of ministers.

The council consists of 12 members, with Lalrinpuii being the only woman minister. Seven of the ministers are first-time winners.

The ZPM, which became a registered political party in 2019, won 27 seats in the assembly elections, increasing from 8 seats in the previous polls.

They replaced the Mizo National Front (MNF) led by outgoing Chief Minister Zoramthanga, who only managed to win 10 seats this time, compared to 26 in the previous elections.
