New Delhi, 23rd May: Raghav Chadha has been appointed chairman of the Committee on Petitions of the Rajya Sabha following the reconstitution of the parliamentary panel.

According to an official notification, Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan nominated 10 members to the committee with effect from May 20, 2026.

The notification stated that Raghav Chadha would serve as chairman of the panel.

Other members nominated to the Committee on Petitions include Harsh Mahajan, Gulam Ali, Shambhu Sharan Patel, Mayankkumar Nayak, Masthan Rao Yadav Beedha, Jebi Mather Hisham, Subhasish Khuntia, Rwngwra Narzary and Sandosh Kumar P.

In another notification, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat announced that Menaka Guruswamy has been nominated to the Joint Committee on the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

Separately, the Lok Sabha Secretariat said Arvind Ganpat Sawant has also been nominated to the Joint Committee on the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill with effect from May 21.

The Committee on Petitions examines petitions submitted by citizens relating to matters connected with legislation, governance and public grievances.
