New Delhi, 23rd July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced the establishment of fast-track courts to ensure the speedy trial of examination paper leak cases, asserting that protecting the future of students remains the government’s highest priority.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth,” while announcing that the government has decided to set up dedicated fast-track courts to deliver swift and stringent punishment to those involved in paper leaks.
Modi said he had directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps for implementing the decision, adding that it forms part of a series of measures aimed at safeguarding students’ interests.
“Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared,” the Prime Minister said.
The announcement came amid continuing protests in the national capital over the alleged NEET paper leak, with Opposition parties and student groups demanding accountability from the government.
The Opposition has been pressing for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, making it a precondition for discussions on the issue in Parliament. The government, however, has maintained that it is prepared for a debate and has accused the Opposition of stalling proceedings by insisting on the minister’s resignation.
Reacting to the Prime Minister’s announcement, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) reiterated its demand for Pradhan’s resignation, stating that the minister should step down despite the government’s latest move.
On Wednesday, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi alleged that more than 150 paper leaks had occurred over the past decade without a single conviction, intensifying pressure on the Centre over the issue.
Earlier this week, Modi had described paper leaks as a “ghor paap” (grave sin) during the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, underlining the government’s commitment to taking strict action against those responsible.
