New Delhi, 29th July: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Wednesday congratulated students across the country after the Lok Sabha passed the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, saying the legislation would safeguard the aspirations of millions of young people.

In a post on X, Shah said the amendment lays down “iron-clad provisions” to deal with unfair means in public examinations and imposes the harshest punishment on those attempting to compromise the integrity of the examination system.

“Congratulations to every student in India on the passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 in Lok Sabha today,” Shah said.

The Home Minister said the legislation protects the dreams and aspirations of students by ensuring stringent legal action against individuals involved in examination malpractices.

He also asserted that the Modi government would not spare anyone attempting to jeopardise the future of students and would ensure that offenders face the full force of the law.

The amendment bill is aimed at strengthening the legal framework against unfair practices in public examinations and enhancing the credibility and transparency of the country’s examination system.
