Air Marshal Tejpal Singh Takes Charge as Deputy Chief Air Staff
Veteran fighter pilot with over 3,500 flying hours succeeds Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti

New Delhi, 1st Aug: Air Marshal Tejpal Singh on Saturday assumed the appointment of Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, succeeding Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, who superannuated on July 31 after 39 years of distinguished service to the nation.
On assuming his new appointment, Air Marshal Singh laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi and paid homage to personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the country.
Commissioned into the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot on June 16, 1990, Air Marshal Singh has accumulated more than 3,500 hours of flying experience during his career.
He is a Cat A Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot and has held several key operational, command and staff appointments in the Indian Air Force.
In recognition of his distinguished service, Air Marshal Singh was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in January 2011 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in January 2021 by the President of India.
Air Marshal Singh takes over the position from Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, who retired from service on July 31.
