Bengaluru, 18th Aug: The investigation into the deaths of a 34-year-old man and his four-year-old son in Bengaluru’s Chikkabanavara area has taken a dramatic turn, with police alleging that the man’s wife conspired with her alleged lover to murder both victims.
According to police, Harini has been taken into custody for the alleged murder of her husband, Abhinandan, and their young son, Yaduveer. Investigators claim the crime was carried out with the assistance of Harini’s alleged lover, Vinay, who is currently absconding.
Police said preliminary investigations suggest the couple had an argument over sleeping arrangements on the night of the incident. During the altercation, Harini allegedly assaulted Abhinandan with a ladle before the two went to separate rooms.
Investigators allege that Harini later called Vinay to the house, where the two allegedly attacked and suffocated Abhinandan. Police further suspect that the couple’s four-year-old son was smothered with a pillow after he woke up during the incident.
Officials also suspect that bloodstains inside the house were cleaned in an attempt to destroy evidence. Investigators are examining whether CCTV cameras at the residence were deliberately switched off when the alleged co-accused visited the house.
The bodies of Abhinandan and his son were sent for post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family for final rites in their native village.
Police teams are conducting searches for Vinay in and around Herohalli near Kanakapura. Officials said further details are expected to emerge once the absconding accused is apprehended and questioned.
The investigation remains ongoing.
